The Sydney Underground Film Festival has announced its brazen new program for the festival, which runs 9th-11th September this year. Covering the political, the perverse, the bizarre, and the down-right entertaining, the festival boldly goes where no other festival dares tread, screening a number of films never before seen in Australia.
Screening 89 films over one huge weekend, the 2010 Sydney Underground Film Festival includes:
- Films from ten countries internationally
- 10 full length feature films and 79 shorts
- 7 feature film Australian premieres
Just weeks after the federal election, the festival will kick off with a truly political flavour on Thursday 9th September with the Australian premiere of Oliver Stone’s SOUTH OF THE BORDER, a controversial documentary following the filmmaker’s trip through South America while interviewing presidents who are all leading the Bolivarian revolution. Also on opening night, guests will enjoy complimentary cuisine, Fat Yak beer and Rosnay organic wine, a special live performance to the famous surrealist film Un Chien Andalou by Jay Katz and Miss Death, and DJs till late!
Other festival highlights are also set to include ENTER THE VOID from famed French filmmaker Gaspar Noé, a screening of hilarious B-grade delight THE TAINT, Australian sexploitation film EL MONSTRO DEL MAR!, the highly-regarded and not for the faint-hearted film LIFE AND DEATH OF A PORNO GANG, Harmony Korine’s TRASH HUMPERS, and the incredibly moving and intense RED, WHITE & BLUE by Simon Rumley (it’s stars Noah Taylor in his best film to date!)
There are a range of ticket options for SUFF from full festival passes, day passes and single session tickets.
Are you a big fan of SUFF? Then the full festival pass is for you. You will receive a collector dog tag, which will give you access to all sessions, opening + closing night parties and selected post-festival events.
Or why not try a day pass? It’s a great way to experience the festival and get value for money. Day passes work out at roughly $8 per session!
Pre-purchased festival passes and day passes can be collected at the box office during the festival. There may be a limited number at the door, if not sold out prior.
