The touring circuit carved out by Hungry Kids of Hungary during the Escapades journey has proved fruitful with festival slots, sold-out rooms nationwide and an ever-growing, rabid fanbase flocking to each and every set to catch a glimpse of what the lads will do next. However, the band is now happy to announce THE FINAL ESCAPADE, the final tour off the back of their debut album Escapades and, with this one, they have certainly saved the best for last.

Beginning in April and continuing throughout May, this will be Hungry Kids of Hungary’s (now officially a permanent five-piece) most ambitious and largest outing yet, as well as their final headline jaunt for 2011. They’ve also invited some of their most talented super-friends along for the ride – exciting Perth-via-Melbourne rock geniuses in the making THE CHEMIST, recent recording buddy and intensely talented keys-man ANDY BULL will bring his three-piece band to the stage while singer/songwriter DANIEL LEE KENDALL will open the east coast capital cities.

If that wasn’t keeping the Hungry five busy enough, add to the list frantically demoing for album number two and most notably a three-week jaunt to the USA and Canada for South By South West, Canadian Music Week and a whole run of showcases and sets.

It’s been a long and winding, albeit exciting and successful, road for Hungry Kids of Hungary since the formative stages of their inception in 2009 when they played Gold Coast’s Big Day Out for triple j Unearthed. Fast forward to the present, flick through a stream of infectious singles and a couple of well-received EPs, reflect upon non-stop airplay for two and a half years and show upon show, festival appearance upon festival appearance. Cap it off with the triumphant release of their debut album Escapades in late 2010, a #24 ARIA Album Chart debut, a #75 placement in triple j’s Hottest 100 for first single ‘Coming Around’ and an ever-growing list of achievements and you have one of the most exciting, emerging bands Australia has produced in sometime.
