Amy Meredith are delighted to confirm the November 11 release of their new single ‘Pick Up Your Tricks’. The track will be shared with fans, serviced to radio and released on iTunes on the morning of 11/11/11.
The band, renowned for “putting in the hard yards”, shot to stardom in 2010 off the back of their platinum-selling, three-times ARIA nominated single ‘Lying’. Their debut album ‘Restless’ followed shortly after selling in excess of 30,000 units, propelled by a second Top Ten airplay single, an X Factor performance and runner-up position in Channel V’s annual Oz Artist of the Year competition. After selling out multiple venues across Australia, including capacity shows at Sydney’s The Metro and two Factory Theatres, the boys relocated to LA in May to begin work on their second album.
Now back on home soil, Amy Meredith return with a vengeance and a bunch of dynamic new tracks up their sleeves that capture a newfound sense of freedom and maturity. The new album, slated for release in April 2012, has seen the band hook up with the likes of Tim Pagnotta (Neon Trees), John Feldman (Good Charlotte, Panic! At The Disco), Billy Mann (Pink) and Rich Costey (Foster The People, The Wombats) amongst others. Tim Pagnotta, who wrote and produced Neon Trees’ smash record ‘Animal’, will join the boys in the studio when they head back to LA this January to put the final touches on the record.
With limitless restrictions and a desire to satisfy the rabid appetite of the army of super fans, Amy Meredith are ready to share a brand new track with the world just six months after wrapping up their last album. ‘Pick Up Your Tricks’ is the first taste of the band’s new sound and features a pumping bass line and catchy rhythm along with the trademark vocals of front-man Christian Lo Russo. The track was produced by Matt Hales of Aqualung fame and mixed by Rich Costey, the man responsible for the juggernaut worldwide smash ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ from Foster The People.
