Bridie Connell (Whose Line Is It Anyway, MotherFather, National Theatresports Champion) is a total player.*
Join her and special guests* for an hour of outrageous characters, infectious musicality, and cringe-inducing truth bombs as she attempts to find her inner cool kid.
Hot off a debut season at MICF, Bridie is bringing her brand new show Player to the Sydney Comedy Festival, in which she pairs her larger-than-life characters – from the misguided life coach to the struggling pick up artist – with her trademark warmth and eye for human emotion, making Player at once funny, awkward, and sometimes a bit poignant, too.
Bridie is a former official selection of both the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Fresh! Comedy and the Adelaide Fringe’s Bank SA Support Act, both of which support exciting emerging talent. She’s a veteran of Project 52 (a former Time Out Sydney’s Best Comedy Room Winner) and Impro Australia, and is a National Theatresports Champion and a World Theatresports Championships Finalist for her native New Zealand. She’s also an award-winning writer, with her one-act play Ebony Tears receiving a funding and development grant, and touring to over 25,000 high school students.
*… but, like, the actor kind, not the cool kind.
- Spoiler: all the special guests are, in fact, Bridie.
