Sydney’s Rock ‘n’ Roll & Alternative Market returns for a one-off special Vivid Sydney event, “Rock ‘n’ Roll & Alternative Market On Tour”. An outstanding array of stalls will join forces with a formidable line-up of Sydney bands for an inner west music and shopping extravaganza.

Cruise a carefully curated selection of retro, rock ‘n’ roll, alternative, vintage, handmade and unique goods. Feast on fabulous food, grab a beer from one of the bars and rock out to the live bands at either the retro or rock stage. Learn about the evolution of rockabilly and hillbilly guitar at Dr Banks Guitar Clinic or learn some tricks on the dance floor, with dancing classes across the eras from the 1920s to the swinging 60s, and experience the all-day, non-stop rockin’ vibe this market/festival is so well known for.

Here is the entertainment line-up for this special event…

The Factory Theatre Retro stage:

Cruisin’ Deuces, The Drey Rollan Band and the combined forces of the Deuces Rollan Band plus Swing to it Sydney Swing and Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance Lessons.

The Fusebox Rock stage:

JD and The Hunger Men (Featuring Jeremy Davidson, frontman of the Snowdroppers and band), The Hollerin’ Sluggers, The Mis-Made and Fox Company.

The Factory Floor:

Charleston and Go-Go Dance Lessons presented by Sydney Vintage Dance Studio, who will demo each dance before the lessons.

The Container Stage:

Dr Banks’ Guitar Clinic featuring virtuoso guitarist Dr Zane Banks (Cruisin’ Deuces/ The Morrisons), who will give a talk on the evolution of Rockabilly and Hillbilly Guitar with his able assistant Jy-Perry Banks (Cruisin’ Deuces).

Entry to Rock ‘n’ Roll & Alternative Market On Tour is $6. Nowhere else in Sydney offers this much bang for your buck. Charleston, Swing, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Go Go Dance Lessons are $5 each in addition to the market entry fee. Entry to Dr Banks Guitar Clinic is $5 in addition to the market entry fee.
