Due to excessive noise pollution issues at the 2015 event, a few new measures have been introduced in an effort to reduce the volume in the main hall and to make the day more enjoyable for everyone. It is expected that patrons and exhibitors alike will observe these guidelines.

NO FREE JAMMING – Free jams, drum battles, blasting, soloing etc are not in the spirit of the show. The Vintage & Custom Drum Expo exists to provide an opportunity to experience the unique products produced by the local drum and percussion industry and the visual and sonic nuances that define them. This is not possible within a deafening environment and all attendees are urged to be considerate of their fellow patrons and exhibitors.

DO NOT TOUCH – Some exhibits may be marked with “do not touch” signs. Please be observant of them. If in doubt, ask an exhibitor or organiser first.

CHILDREN – Parents are kindly requested to supervise their children at all times. Do not allow your children to roam the show, wander through booths alone or begin soloing on kits. Please be considerate of the value of many of the items on display and the time and effort that exhibitors may have put in to building, restoring or collecting them.

DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN STICKS – A ‘one stick’ policy is being trialled at this year’s show. Exhibitors will provide you with sticks on request if they have products available for testing, so just ask if you would like to try something out. Please refrain from using sticks purchased at the show until you have left the venue.

EXHIBITOR DEMO SESSIONS – Each exhibitor has a scheduled demonstration throughout the day. It is requested that instruments not be played by patrons or other exhibitors during presentations. These sessions provide a great opportunity to hear performances and informative talks from some of Australia’s leading players and industry professionals and a convenient time to talk with other exhibitors about their products.
