After touring with Dave Chappelle for a decade, AzharUsman delivers comedy from the margins of every part of his identity: Indian. American. Muslim. Born and raised in Chicago, this veteran standup comic and MCU actor has written, acted, and/or produced for Netflix, Disney, and Amazon, while maintaining his underground edge, offering a perspective you won’t find anywhere else. A licensed attorney and former fintech startup founder, his insider-outsider status as a media pirate who belongs everywhere and nowhere gives him the freedom to challenge everyone’s assumptions. Azhar is a paid regular at the Comedy Cellar, and performs regularly at theaters, private events, university campuses, and comedy clubs all over the world. A member of the Writers Guild of America, he served as Staff Writer & Co-Executive Producer of two critically acclaimed, A24-produced original comedy series: RAMY on Hulu, and MO on Netflix.

Azhar Usman has also recently released his first solo standup film, THE ISLAMIC STATES OF AMERICA, turning his incisive comedy to themes of faith, fatherhood, politics, and repentance – all while interrogating the contradictions of modern America through a distinctly global, Muslim lens.
