Stephanie Hare grew up off the electricity grid without the internet, phone reception, hot water, gas, a flushing toilet, or even a fridge, and she thought that was all pretty normal until she moved out.

When her mother was twenty-four, she left Melbourne, bought a goat, and built a house out of firewood in the middle-of-nowhere Tasmania. Oh, and she had her first baby whilst living in a tent. (Wild). Now Steph is twenty-four and she’s written a comedy show all about it.

This show encapsulates the absurdity of rural life, the chaos and anxiety of being a twenty something, and searching for security within conformity. Also, how much of a legend Steph’s mum is.
