And they say “don’t be so silly, you’re only 29*!”

If so, this may be the comedy show for you at the Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival.

We make lots of ADULT decisions: career, fertility, family, and perhaps most importantly: ‘is this the right Comedy show for me?’

Meanwhile, those around us roll their eyes, cough or pointedly ask ‘are you SURE?’

I’m Comedian Divya Vaman and I get you.

We’re not alone: the audience for this comedy show, ‘Grown Girl’ will predominantly be women who experience this. Others will enjoy it too, but it will resonate most strongly with women who feel that they’re still treated like girls. We’ve experienced it separately – lets laugh at it together.

If you join us at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre on Saturday 5th September (6.30 pm) or Sunday, 6th September (5.30 pm), for ‘Grown Girl’ – my stand-up comedy show with surprise visual elements – we can laugh together at the whole situation.

After five years on stage, I wrote this show for us: the ones with;

· degrees

· careers

· ticking ovaries…

…who are still dismissed as ‘young lady’.

Comic relief? Yes. But laughing at it may be our sharpest, most mature response.

The venue’s bar is open for pre-show drinks, so we can be sure that at least ONE person will be treating us as if we are over 18!

If this all strikes a chord with you too, I look forward to seeing you at my show:

*You get it.
