Elias Bartholomeo is an Australian Fingerstyle Guitarist whose performances combine technical mastery, musical storytelling and an infectious passion for the acoustic guitar. Widely regarded as one of Australia's most promising young acoustic guitarists, his playing has been described as "walking a tightrope between many genres all at once," captivating audiences with a dynamic and engaging live performance style.
Born and raised in Sydney Australia, Elias began playing guitar at the age of four under the guidance of his grandfather. Immersed in the music of The Beach Boys, The Shadows, Buddy Holly and The Beatles, he quickly developed a deep connection to the instrument. A chance discovery of legendary Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel would ultimately change the course of his life, inspiring him to pursue fingerstyle guitar with unwavering dedication.
Following his grandfather's advice to study the works of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, Elias immersed himself in the rich traditions of fingerstyle guitar. Despite being self-taught and unable to read music, he developed his musicianship through ear training, relentless practic and eventually collaboration with fellow musicians, creating a distinctive style that honours tradition while embracing contemporary influences.
At just sixteen years old, Elias fulfilled a lifelong dream when he performed alongside Tommy Emmanuel at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Hawaii. The experience further strengthened his commitment to a career in music and opened doors to collaborations with artists from around the world.
Since then, Elias has toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, South Korea & Japan, performing in theatres, festivals, performing arts centres, community halls and dedicated listening venues. Along the way, he has built a strong reputation within both the live music and international guitar communities for his musicianship, professionalism, and authentic connection with audiences.
A graduate of the Talent Development Project in 2020, Elias released his debut EP, "Give to Keep," in 2021 and later recorded portions of the collaborative project "According To History" at Sony Music Australia. His ongoing musical partnership with fellow Australian guitarist JJ has seen the duo release multiple recordings and perform throughout New South Wales, including opening for Australian music icon Daryl Braithwaite at Wests Tamworth.
Beyond the stage, Elias is the owner of Sounds of Country and proudly represents respected industry brands including Maton Guitars, AER Amplifiers, Ernie Ball, Kyser Capos, and Paige Capos.
