Miya Miya roughly translates in Arabic to the 100 emoji, perfect, fantastic, 100/100. Our event Gadigal to Gaza, brought to you in collaboration with Cairo Takeaway, will be a place where you can share a meal and drink together, listen to incredible music, watch a movie, see amazing art, and share stories from the culture whilst providing a hub of safety, inclusivity, and community.

With performances from:

The Herd, Joseph Tawadros, Montaigne, DJ IZM (Bliss n Eso), Handsome, Dobby, P.Smurf, DJ Tikelz, Yasmina Sadiki, Xander Khoury, Bindi Bosses, Charnel Rizk, Zeadala, Glo, Joj Bouk, Al Jamel Collective, Deens, and special guests!

All proceeds from the event will be going to charity:

  • Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA), which helps support recently arrived Palestinian refugees in Australia

  • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières Sudan and Syria Crisis Response, which is providing urgent medical and trauma care for war and non-war related injuries

  • The Sameer Project, which facilitates on the ground shelter, medication and treatment, food and water in Gaza

  • Beit el Baraka, which is providing housing and medical assistance to displaced peoples in Beirut

In recognition of our meeting on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people, we will pay the rent on the day to the Aboriginal Women and Children's Crisis Service, providing support to Aboriginal women and children experiencing domestic or family violence in Inner West Sydney.

Gadigal to Gaza is a safe and inclusive space for all peoples, including our SWANA, First Nations, Black, POC, Jewish, and LGBTQIASB+ friends, and we have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind.
