Switzerland’s most famous post-rock group HUBRIS have announced their return to Australia this November, touring in support of their new album ‘The One Above.’

Formed in Fribourg, Switzerland in 2014, the band quickly found an earnest following for their emotive, dynamic and exquisitely crafted instrumental music. Drawing influences from This Will Destroy You, Sigur Ros & Mogwai, they have forged an ethereal sound of their own over the course of four studio albums.

After playing their first ever show with one of their key inspirations, New Zealand’s Jakob, back in 2015, the band have developed into a formidable live touring act themselves, renowned for crystal clear sound, atmospheric lighting and excellent musicianship.

Their third and fourth albums ‘Metempsychosis’ (2020) and ‘The One Above’ (2023) proved to be the band’s breakthrough records, picking up label support from Belgium’s acclaimed Dunk Records, USA label Post Recordings, Australia’s Art As Catharsis Records and seeing them tour internationally, including shows across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

Now they will play their biggest ever run of shows in Australia, including performing in Adelaide and Perth for the first time.

Director Mike Solo of Bird’s Robe says:

I first heard hubris when Art As Catharsis picked up ‘Metempsychosis’ for an Australian release and subsequent tour. I’ve been following their development over the past few years and have been super impressed by the quality of their output, especially their live performances – everything you can find on YouTube is exquisitely produced and performed. They’re definitely one of the most interesting and exciting new post-rock bands of the past decade and they’re absolutely committed to playing to as many people as possible all over the world. It’s fantastic to be part of that journey and for Australian fans to get to see them here again.
