A Night of JOY IN RESISTANCE:
Rising Tide Sydney’s First Annual Fundraising Concert
Join us for a belting night of music and revelry, as we build a fighting fund for the future of Rising Tide Sydney.
Rising Tide is a movement of ordinary people across the nation, called by extraordinary times, to take disruptive collective action on climate. You may have seen us in the news last year on kayaks at The People’s Blockade of the World's Largest Coal Port.
This year, Rising Tide is building up to two mass protests in Newcastle, the Paddle for the Planet (Nov 14 2026) and the 2027 People’s Blockade (25 Feb-2 Mar 2027). And we want to get as many people from Sydney there as possible!
Enough about us, what about the night?
Expect a variety of music, such as experimental music group Australian P.O.P Music (Pianist Ronan Apcar, Violinist Sola Hughes, Flautist Maria Zhdanovich), performing a structured improvisation on the artwork 3000 Days and Counting. Melbourne-based artist QiQi, will perform excerpts from their sold out immersive show; Echoes of the Earth. Finally, some three hundred year old (and some brand new) sea shanties from Randy Dandy Shanty Club, that surely won’t end with a sing-along!
And you’ll get to hear from Rising Tide’s Zack Schofield, an activist at the forefront of climate and political action, who this year sailed with the Global Sumud Flotilla. He will share his experiences as well as what’s happening this year with Rising Tide and how you can be part of it.
On top of all that, there’ll be merch, a raffle, artwork, and all the inspiration you’ve been looking for to keep fighting the good fight.
Come on in and find the Joy in Resistance!
This is an 18+ event.
